Project Manager

Landmark Construction and Development (Landmark) is a General Contractor firmly rooted in traditional values, the relentless pursuit of creating long-term relationships and commitment to be our client’s single-source construction and development partner. Landmark’s projects are primarily multifamily apartment complexes, hospitality and mixed‐use commercial developments across the southeast.

The Project Manager of Construction has the responsibility for overseeing the planning and execution of Construction projects, whether new construction, renovation or expansion of existing projects in support of the company’s current and future operations, and overseeing Superintendents and all field staff.

Reports to: Senior Leadership

    • Provide strategic leadership to the construction department.

    • Assemble, organize and oversee a team of construction professionals in support of the business

    • Identify innovative ideas that enhance the quality of, decrease the cost of, and reduce time of completing construction projects.

    • Ensure uniform quality, schedule and budgets for all construction projects assigned to them for the company.

    • Ensure compliance with all safety protocols.

    • Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local regulations

    • Be the liaison and communicator between all parties such as developer, owner, architects, engineers and construction staff

    • Conduct regular senior level meetings with all parties to communicate project status and proactively seek feedback.

    • Maintain and communicate budget overages, cost estimates and cost to complete information in a complete and timely fashion on all projects to team members throughout the duration of the project. Document budget and schedule variances to principle client and management.

    • Builds and maintains historical cost data information.

    • Reviews estimates based on a practical understanding of design, constructability, logistics, sequencing and means and methods of a project.

    • The successful candidate will have a strong working knowledge of construction methods, and problem-solving skills; good communication skills; and be organized, efficient and responsive to deadlines.

    • Strong analytical and logic skills with the ability to maintain a high degree of precision on assigned responsibilities.

    • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities prioritizes his or her responsibilities accordingly depending on volume of work.

    • Must be highly proficient with interpreting plans and specifications.

    • Able to work as a team leader to motivate in a high energy and sense of urgency environment.

    • Degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred but not required.

    • 5+ years in leading teams in the construction industry

    • Possess good organizational and management skills, and strong verbal and written communication skills.

    • Possess the ability to estimate all aspects of a commercial construction project, assemble into one budget, and present to owners.

    • Must be able to view things from a construction business owner’s perspective and present accordingly.

    • Strong computer skills, including the ability to utilize construction geared software, scheduling, bid management, online plan rooms and database applications.
